Wilkes Central women 68, Elkin 40
The Wilkes Central women’ basketball workforce used a pair of massive runs in the primary and second halves to defeat Elkin 68-40 in Moravian Falls on Tuesday night time.
Central had a 16-Zero run to construct a 15-point halftime benefit at 29-14. In the second half, the Eagles went on a 12-Zero run to steer 41-17 on a Three-pointer from Karlie Anderson.
The Eagles, which improved to 6-Eight general an d 2-Three in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference, hit seven Three-pointers and Erica Wyatt had three of them to steer all scorers with 17 factors.
Malaya Cowles chipped in 12 factors and added 11 rebounds and eight blocks. Autumn Church scored 10 factors off the bench whereas Madison German completed with 9 factors.
Elkin (2-12, Zero-5) was led by 15 factors from freshman Audrey Jennings and Kyley Cook added 13.
Wilkes Central boys 86, Elkin 54
The Eagles scored 20 factors or extra every quarter to set a season-high for scoring in a simple win towards Elkin on Tuesday night time.
Wilkes Central (Eight-5, Four-1) led 22-6 after one quarter and 66-38 after three quarters.
Twelve of the Eagles’ 13 gamers scored factors in the win and have been led by a game-high 23 factors from Noah Johnson. Jay Boddie and Zamian Gwyn joined the junior in double figures with 11 and 10, respectively.
Marcus Lopez added 9 factors, all in the fourth quarter.
Tanner Sturdivant hit 4 Three-pointers to complete with 14 factors and Beau Bugress scored 9 for the Buckin’ Elks, who dropped to 1-13 general and Zero-5 in the MVAC.
