Formula One champion-turned-toddler fashion critic Lewis Hamilton’s “Princessgate” scandal is displaying no signal of slowing down.
Hamilton was slammed on social media for shaming his younger nephew for not following gender norms.
He posted a video of the candy, smiling younger boy within the gown on Snapchat, and was heard yelling, “Boys don’t wear princess dresses!”
After coming underneath hearth, Hamilton (later seen in a meme dressed virtually identically to Princess Diana) deleted the video and apologized.
Now the British Fashion Council is being urged to drop the fractious F-1 driver from its committee for Men’s Fashion Week.
Influential fashion criticism Instagram account Diet Prada slammed Hamilton, writing, “We are so sad right now. Thanks for the twitter apologies, but no thanks. We hope you took the time to apologize to your sweet little nephew instead to tell him that what you said is very wrong and that he should be able to dress however he wants. Your words won’t harm the majority of us, but they can be really damaging to such a young kid. @britishfashioncouncil, as of now he’s still on your current committee list for London Collections: Men. Do you think there could be a better representative for a fashion capital known for being so forward thinking?”
